Charles O' Connor

Mr. Charles DeWitt OConnor of Woodstock, Georgia passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at his residence. Mr. OConnor was born in Warren, Pennsylvania to his parents, Arthur Joseph and Helen Young OConnor. Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1962 and was a huge supporter of the Fighting Irish athletics. Mr. OConnor met the love of his life, Joan in graduate school at Duquesne University in 1968. They married in 1969 and were together for 52 years. He and his wife owned a specialty medical equipment company for many years. While not working, Mr. OConnor loved golf and spending time with family.

Mr. OConnor is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Joseph and Helen Young OConnor.

He is survived by his wife, Joan OConnor; Daughters, Meaghan OConnor (Michael Atkin) of Hollywood, Florida, Kara Yarbrough (Clayton Bryce) of Marietta, Georgia; Brothers, Arthur Joseph OConnor (Ellie) of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Peter OConnor (Luz) of Acton, Massachusetts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church located at 490 Arnold Mill Road, Woodstock, Georgia, 30188.

Inurnment will take place Monday, March 21, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Veterans Cemetery Rd, Canton, GA 30114, with Military Honors provided by the United States Army.
