

Chortip “Tip” Kumpand was born on August 15, 1953, to Pon andDome Manawakul in Bangkok, Thailand. On August 14, 2025—justone day before her 72nd birthday—she went home to be reunitedwith her beloved husband, Vinai Kumpand.Tip moved to Douglas, Georgia, in 1969. While working in a carpetmanufacturing factory, she pursued her education and earned anassociate degree from South Georgia College in 1974, latercompleting her bachelor’s degree at Kennesaw State University. OnMay 15, 1971, she married the love of her life, Vinai, and togetherthey built a home filled with love and laughter. Their greatest joycame in 1994 with the birth of their son, Troy Kumpand.Tip was known for her incredible cooking, quick wit, and devotionto family. She found peace at the beach, joy in her favorite color,purple, and community through her involvement in the ThaiAssociation of Georgia, where she made lifelong friendships.For 50 years, Tip dedicated her career to caring for others as anurse with Wellstar Health System. Her compassion, generosity,and love for her colleagues touched countless lives, and her workfriends meant the world to her.She is survived by her cherished son, Troy Kumpand, and hernephews, Wayne and Clint Anderson, along with many dearfriends and extended family who will miss her deeply.
