Christine “Chris” Marie Volpe Crawford, age 73, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
Chris was born to the late Pasquale Anthony Volpe and the late Marie McAvoy Volpe on March 5, 1948 in New York, New York. She had Italian background and was raised in a family where good food was shared with those that you love.
Chris had attended Catholic schools throughout her life and graduated from Holy Angels High School in New Jersey. She later met and married the love of her life, Lawrence “Larry” Crawford. The couple relocated to several states through Larry’s line of work including New Jersey, Massachusetts, California and, ultimately, Georgia.
Chris was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church and walked strongly in her faith. She and Larry instilled their love of the Lord into their children as they raised them alongside the other members of the Parish.
During the COVID pandemic, Chris and Larry found refuge and peace on the family farm in Illinois. They spent time enjoying nature, sunshine and visiting the local wildlife.
Christine “Chris” Crawford is survived by her devoted husband, Lawrence “Larry” Crawford; children, Victoria “Tori,” Eric and his wife Jennifer, David, Michael and Gabe and his fiance Chale; and grandchildren, Ashlyn, Noah, Nichole, Colton, Aubrey and Matthew.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Tuesday, January 25th at Woodstock Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, January 26th at Transfiguration Catholic Church. Services will be livestreamed at www.transfiguration.com. Chris will be laid to rest afterwards at Green Lawn Cemetery & Mausoleum in the Chapel of Peace.
