Cyndi Barber

Cyndi was born on May 28, 1953 in Edmonds, Washington, daughter of the late Ed Ruosch and Laura Artz Ruosch.

Cyndi was a remarkable woman whose intelligence, loyalty, generosity, and honesty touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a way of making people feel cared for and welcomed, and her love for her family was at the heart of everything she did. She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband and cherished her children and grandchildren beyond measure. To her grandkids, Cyndi was affectionately called, “Mimi”.

Cyndi enjoyed a successful career as a Systems Analyst with Xerox for fifteen years. She lived a life filled with curiosity, adventure, and meaningful experiences. In her younger years, she traveled to places such as Tokyo and Brazil, embracing the opportunity to see the world and experience different cultures. At home, she found just as much happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved baking and cooking, and she especially enjoyed opening her home to family and friends. Holiday gatherings were a special tradition, filled with good food, laughter, games, and the warmth of being together.

She also loved puzzles and games, always enjoying the challenge and the fun of figuring things out. She had a special appreciation for the outdoors, particularly the beauty of Mount Rainier.

Cyndi will be remembered not only for the things she did, but for the person she was, smart, steadfast, generous, honest, loving, and deeply devoted to her family. Her love, laughter, traditions, and the countless memories she created will remain with her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

Cyndi is preceded in death by her brother, Larry Ruosch.

Survivors include her loving husband of thirty-three years, Gene P Barber, II; daughters, Haley (Skyler) Hughes and Heather (Gavin) Marks; grandchildren, Hayden, Asher and Scottie Hughes; brother, Ron Ruosch; sister, Oriana (Randall) Holubiczko; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 3rd of October 2026 in the chapel of Poole Funeral Home.

Friends are cordially invited to a Gathering with the family for two hours immediately following the service at Poole Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will also be held at Gene and Cyndi’s home on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from four o’clock in the afternoon until six.
