Cyndi Poole, (63) was born August 18, 1961 in Greensboro, North Carolina. She passed away February 16, 2025 in Canton, Georgia following a courageous two year battle with pancreatic cancer. Despite her fierce tenacity and steadfast determination and the heroic efforts from her doctors and nurses, her earthly body succumbed to the fight. In her final moments she was in the company of her “three boys” along with her sister and loving family witnessing her transition to an eternal home at heavens gates. She is reunited, renewed and pain free.
Cyndi is survived by her beloved husband Tom Poole, sons Greg Poole (Vanessa) and their children Giovanna and Norah, David Poole (Anne) and their children Antonio, Isabella and Alice, her sister Julie Farr (Barry), and their children Brittany, Tyler and Alex, as well as her great niece and nephew Mia and Wyatt.
She is preceded in death by her brother Gregg, son Jonathan, mother Mary and father Gurney.
Known for her unfailing love, compassionate heart and creative spirit, Cyndi will be deeply missed by all of those she nurtured, advocated for and cherished in the course of her lifetime. Faith, family and friends were of upmost importance. She was her sons’ biggest fan around the baseball diamond, a forever companion to her husband in every endeavor and a pure example of “through sickness and in health.” She embodied the pursuit and fulfillment of knowledge and wisdom as an educator. In her later chapters, she composed her opus as Nana. The joy she possessed and shared with her grandchildren, few may comprehend but all who knew her will attest to the immense measure.
Cyndi found her passion for teaching as a home school mom, and returned to college herself to earn her degree in special education all while working as a bus driver and maintaining the highest marks to graduate top of her class. In her career as a teacher, she was a champion for her students and an exemplar to colleagues.
Cyndi taught high school Sunday School classes at First Baptist Woodstock. She served as Director of Children’s Ministries at First Baptist Holly Springs. And served on numerous short term missions projects.
Among her hobbies, Cyndi often enjoyed travel, art work and poetry. She was an eloquent writer and loved to craft and create with her grandchildren.
Through many valleys of adversity, from losing her brother at an early age and her second son as a child to supporting her husband through a life altering diagnosis and eventually facing her own life threatening disease, Cyndi’s belief in miracles and an almighty God never wavered. Cyndi’s family observed this first hand and these are the memories they would ask her friends and community to take to heart while navigating the genuine sadness encountered in her absence.
