DaShawn’s life was marked by a steady devotion to the people he loved and a sincere, honest way of moving through the world. He carried himself with thoughtful care, offering kindness without condition and loyalty without hesitation. Even in ordinary moments, there was a warmth to him—an affectionate presence that made others feel seen, supported, and genuinely cherished. And when the moment called for it, Dashawn’s humor arrived like a bright spark, lifting spirits and easing burdens in a way that will be remembered with gratitude.
From early on, basketball was a constant in Dashawn’s life—he had been playing since 4th grade. That love of the game stayed with him throughout his years, where his dedication and steady heart showed in the way he approached what mattered to him.
DaShawn worked at Wellstar Northside Cherokee Hospital, serving others through his daily work with the same dependability and care that defined his relationships. His commitment was quiet but real—rooted in consideration for others and a desire to do right by the people around him.
Outside of work, DaShawn found joy in the things that made him feel most like himself: music, basketball, fashion, decorating and anime. These interests were not just pastimes, but familiar comforts—places where his personality, gentleness, creativity and bright sense of fun could shine.
DaShawn was preceded in death by his grandparents, John (Bertha) Edwards, Annie Morris and Willie Coleman; Great Grandma Emma Murphy.
DaShawn is survived by his parents, Tommy “Pops” Morris and Alberta "Bert" Jean Morris; his sister, Raquel “Rock” Edwards; aunts, Emma "Tee" Edwards, Linda Morris, Cathy (Lee Carl) Blackmon, and Kechia (Joseph) James; great aunts, Mildred Edwards, Susie Mae Finklea; uncle, Marcus Edwards, Michael "Big Unc" (Kela) Morris, DeWayne Morris, David Morris; Godparents, Curtis (Cassandra) Williams; Godbrother, Kurtis Williams; Godsister, Kechada Wallace; and his cousins, Jamaurey "Tank" Blackmon; Dominique Morris, Makylar Morris, Andranika (Terrence) Boyd, Zadora (Andrew) Williams and a host of other cousins also survive.
Serving as pallbearers, some of his best friends: Jamaurey “Tank” Blackmon, Dale Sutton, Terrence Green, Stefon Bright, Marcus Norman, and Edgar Tovar.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 1st of August, 2026 in the chapel of Poole Funeral Home, with Rev. Josh James officiating.
Entombment will immediately follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roswell, GA.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family for two hours prior to service time at Poole Funeral Home.
In honor of DaShawn's love of the color blue, guests are invited to wear blue or white to his services.
