I will miss you forever and love you always 😘😇🤗💓❤️

Technically you’d say that David was my uncle – but from a life experience standpoint, he was my brother. When he lived with us, we were in the same grade, had the same friends, went to the same parties, were raised by the same people (Eddie & Patti). Now you have to know that high school stories are going to be about teenage rebellion – but these were some of the best times of our lives, so they’re the stories that would make him smile. 
We had a 1:00am curfew … so we’d get home on a Saturday night at 1:00am, check in, and say “it’s still so hot out, we’re going to go sleep outside by the pool.” And we’d sneak back around to the front, push his car down the road so nobody would hear the motor (thank God this was pre-RoadRunner!) – and head back out. Around 5:00am or so we’d coast down the hill to our house (again, no motor), go back out to the pool, and go to sleep. This one time, we coasted down the hill at 5:00am only to see all of our porch lights on! We look at each other with “oh no” looks, suck it up and go in. Nothing, nobody was up … WE left them on! So really, sneaking out actually saved us from getting in trouble for leaving the porch lights on 😂 
But it came back to us another time … mom and dad went out of town, so it was party time. We threw one of the best parties that town had seen – but we were responsible. Everyone got home safe, and we cleaned up and made the house pretty. Too pretty, in fact … mom and dad noticed right off the bat – the house was cleaner now than before they left. Busted. 
And the RoadRunner – man he loved that car! He built it himself … Hemi, beast of a hood scoop and loud as all get-out. Yeah – David always said, these were some of the best times of his life – and they were for me too. Unlike most people, we had same great high school memories that I know stayed with him and that I’ll never forget. He taught me how to drive, how to change the oil in my car (come on now – it was a 71 Vega. If you’re a car guy, you know that means.) And he instilled in me common sense and respect for others that has stayed with me.
Growing up wouldn’t have been the same without him – I’m grateful he was in our lives and will always love him for what he brought to all of us.

My name is David Polani, and David and I were neighbors in Redwood City CA. in 1980.  We were both living in our for apartment after moving out of our parents home.  When we weren't working we're weight lifting buddies and would always grill a steak and a baked potato after our work out.  After he moved, we kept in touch here and there.  I'm heart broken he left us so soon, but I know he's pain free and in a better place now.  Condolences to his family.  God bless.

I have so many favorite memories of David that it's hard to choose just one.
He lived with us from as far back as I can remember and even my earliest of recollections include David.
One of my favorite memories is when he first got his driver's license and he had this little silver car. My mom was preparing dinner for all 6 of us in the kitchen and she needed something from the store. David jumps up and says "I'll go get it!! I'll take Heidi with me... Heidi, you wanna go with me to the store with your uncle Dave?" Which of course, I did! In my little 5 year old mind I was like "Heck YA!" 
I remember driving down Dartmouth with the radio on. Rod Stewart's "Tonight's the Night" came on, it was 75' or maybe 76'.... 
He cranks it up and said "oh I LOVE this song! Listen to this song Heidi, its really good!". 
I was 5 so I was more amused with the car ride and being with my uncle while we drive down the fun and windy road with the windows down and not so much the music but then I heard the sound of a siren and yes.... we were getting pulled over!
I remember David and the policeman talking about him just getting his license and other stuff and David just being so happy-go lucky shooting the breeze with the cop while his ticket was being written. David takes the citation and the policeman leaves....Then, David with his unmistakable voice that was half a laugh and the other half just so oblivious to anything other than good hearted humor says to me "Well Heidi, your uncle Dave just got his first ticket. Remember this day" and he cranked the radio back up and we took off! 
I just remember thinking " I gotta remember this day" and I do.
Another memory was when he got a job scooping ice cream at Squires. I was so excited when my Dad took all of us kids in to get ice cream there and even more excited that my cool uncle was working at an ice cream parlor. To me there wasn't a better job in the world, are you kidding?! 
I was last to be served and when it was my turn to order I took my time, studying every flavor option in the cases so that I could make the perfect choice. My brother and sisters were like "Hurry up, God" but David just walked up and down the cases with me, patiently allowing me to choose. When I finally decided he gave me an extra scoop, I got 2 and everyone else got 1 and he handed it to me smiling and said " hold it with both hands now Heidi" and I felt so special. It was literally the best thing that had happened to me ever, ha ha....
Uncle David loved cars, he had many.... I always remember him tinkering around with them and me, driving around with him. He loved music... music really touched his soul and meant alot to him. Connecting with lyrics I think was very comforting to him and also brought back many wonderful memories for some of the best times of his life.
So many other other memories and words of advice come to mind when I think of David. I don't think I can ever remember  a time when he wasn't shining and full of laughter and love but the most important thing that I learned from my uncle is to accept everyone and like or love them for who they are and to never judge a person as a whole by their mistakes, problems or imperfections.  
David truly saw the good in every single person even if it wasn't returned back to him. In all of my 51 years coming across someone that  has such a kind, sensitive, forgiving and beautiful heart has been extremely rare. 
I love you, David and I'll carry you in my heart forever. That's a promise. 
Rest peacefully. You're loved and you're missed.... and until we all meet again, Keep shining

David was a wonderful person who loved his family an friends dearly. David will me missed.

Uncle David was full of life and I always loved our camping trips, laughs, and enjoying the outdoors together. You will be missed! I love you! RIP

David , my beloved little brother I will always hold you and your memory close to my heart ❤️  You are  giant with a gentle heart .So innocent as a little boy always trusting,believing in others words .  Cherished moment with David was when I took David to the San Francisco zoo when he was six years old . David had a zoo key to wind the animal box at many of the exhibits describing the animal in a cage or open contain area. That day at he zoo David and I walked up to a life like silhouette of a clown with a red nose . David pushed his nose and the clown said hi what is your name . David looked at the clown and said in in the small shy voice to the clown my name is David. David so loving and believing tried so hard to always be that trusting little boy all his life sometimes along his path in life life happens and he would protect his feelings as he was so sensitive truly a loving brother ,husband ,father and grand father

Brother-in-law,Damn Covid ruined all the memories we could of been making the last couple years but I am thankful for the years of memories we all made on our camping trips… Tommy teaching you how to set up a tent, you giving me a hard time (in fun) and naming me the tote natzi! Us enjoying nascar races from the TV or at the track and all your delicious BBQ we would eat during family  get togethers.You will be missed.
