

Born on September 28, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, Donald was the son of Donald and Jeanette Duncan. He spent his childhood in Brooklyn, where he met the love of his life, Louise Marie Duncan. Their friendship began as children growing up together in the same neighborhood and blossomed into a lifelong love story. Donald and Louise shared 56 years of marriage before her passing in 2019.
A devoted family man, Donald found his greatest joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was known for his remarkable memory, love of reading, and his ability to recall stories and details from throughout his life. His wisdom, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
Donald was a proud Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and remained deeply patriotic throughout his life. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to law enforcement as a member of the New York City Police Department. After retiring from the NYPD he pursued his entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of Duncan Automotive in Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise Marie Duncan, and his sister, Dawn Traina.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Duncan and Scott (Patti) Duncan; his daughter, Debbie (James) Johnson; his sister, Darlene Rateau; five grandchildren, Daniel (Lindsey) Duncan, Krissy (William) Bubel, Ansley (Joe) Hadley, Drew (Corrin) Johnson, and Adrian Johnson; and ten great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jaylin, Kenley, Hudson, Arlo, Alan, Charlotte, Bear, Frankie, and Scarlet.
Donald’s legacy is one of service, dedication, patriotism, and above all, love for his family. He leaves behind generations who were blessed by his guidance, strength, and enduring example.
Donald will be laid to rest later this year beside his beloved wife at Georgia National Cemetery, where they will be reunited in eternal peace.
