Donald McCain

Donald McCain of Marietta, GA passed away at Ross Memorial Care Center in Kennesaw, GA on August 10, 2023. He was 82 years old. Don was born in Cedartown, Georgia. He graduated from Cedartown High School in 1960. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army and was a paratrooper. He served for three years and was very proud of his service. After his faithful service to the United States of America, he worked at Lockheed Martin for 43 years, and additionally attended Southern Tech.

Don loved archaeology and spent several summers on an archaeological “dig” at Four Corners, Utah. He loved studying and finding Indian artifacts. He also loved studying the Civil War, World War l, and World War ll.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Polo and Louise, two brothers, Larry and Jesse, and two sisters, Suzanne and Debbie.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne, his son, Mark McCain, and two stepsons Todd (Jennifer) Hirsch, Rodney Davis, and brother-in-law & Sister-in-law Greg and Lyn Poppe. Seven grandchildren also survive.

A visitation for Donald will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188, followed by a funeral service from 3:00 PM.
