

Mr. Edward Joseph Kozak, 67, of Woodstock, GA passed away May 31, 2016. Ed was born on June 12, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Leo and Loretta Kozak. After graduating from Bay Shore High School, Ed joined the US Army and honorably served during the Vietnam War. Ed had a career as a paint contractor. He was a devout Catholic and devoted his volunteer time to the St. Vincent De Paul Society and the Men’s Club. He was a selfless and kind man. Ed was a devoted and loving father and friend. He will be immensely missed by all who knew him. Ed leaves behind his sons, Eddie Kozak (Cori) and John Kozak (Sheila), daughter, Kim Bruggeman (David) and Cory Beth Gwinn (Zach), grandchildren, Alexandria Bruggeman, Ayden Bruggeman, Evan Kozak, Carter Kozak and Leighton Gwinn, sister, Rosemary Dibartolomeo and former wife and best friend, Judith Kozak. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis and Johnny Kozak. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 6:00-8:30pm at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main St, Woodstock, GA 30188. A funeral mass will be Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11:30am at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 1815 Blackwell Rd, Marietta, GA 30066. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
