Ed was born on January 5th, 1941, in Lakeland, Florida to Lillian and Edgar Davis Jr. After graduating from Lakeland Senior High School, “Sonny” as he was called, went on to study accounting at University of South Florida, University of Florida, Western Kentucky University, and University of Edinburgh.
After graduation, Ed signed up for service in the Marine Corp where he found himself working through boot camp at Camp Lejeune. Yes, he was there! He then was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California.
After leaving the military, he landed a job as a bank examiner. If the United States and the bank trusted him, you know he was trusted by friends and family. He was blessed at this time to have his daughter Debbi and son James. Ed was a strong, kind, supportive father. His knowledge and guidance were the foundation of his family.
Ed became determined to give his children a life he never had. He worked diligently for Fruit of the Loom, West Point Pepperell, and Bibb Corporation where he was very successful at mergers and acquisitions. It was during this time that he met and married Mary Enzor. She brought with her the Enzor family travel business. Amazing travel then became something that Ed and Mary loved to do. They also made sure to play any golf course they could along the way. Mary passed nearly 14 years ago from cancer.
“Bop” is survived by his children Debbi Snyder and James Davis, daughter-in-law Donna Davis, grandchildren Nicole Adams, Abbi Davis, Tristin Davis, sister-in-law Jeri Green, niece and nephews Dawn Barnett, Lara Enzor, Brett Enzor and Tianzhen Lin. Last, but not ever least, his honorary child, Tim Colovos.
