Edward (Eddie) Falconer was born in Jersey City, NJ on May 29, 1949. He attended grammar school at St. Aloysius Church, where he first fell in love with singing as a choir boy and altar boy.His lifetime love for music continued when, as a teen, he picked up his first guitar. A six-string by his side for life. Naturally, he started working in a music store, which he loved. As a young man, he performed often in clubs at the Jersey shore, including the famed Stone Pony. During the 1970's, he worked singing for commericals, the most notable being for Windsong perfume: "I can't seem to forget you, your Windsong stays on my mind...."He had a beautiful, rich voice which, accompanied by his masterful guitar, was moving and joyous. He brought his love of music and guitars into the lives of his sons and grandchildren. It wasn’t a family affair without Eddie singing and a son or two plucking away.Eddie was a consummate athlete. While he spent his youth playing football, basketball, and excelling at baseball, his real love was tennis. Upon moving with his family to Marietta, GA in 1981, he joined the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association and played at various levels ending at A1 Seniors. “Geezer League” as he called it, lovingly of course.
Eddie always loved sharing memories and stories of his professional life. He dedicated his career to the logistics and air freight industry both in New Jersey and Atlanta. He was passionate about international air freight, and that passion landed him a role as a TSA Administrator as well as the President of the Atlanta Air Cargo Association. He passed this passion on to his sons, though their shared colleagues would always ask “why?”. He enjoyed traveling the far corners of the earth with work and could often be found trying out the best restaurants and tasting delicious wines. A delicious red, always on the table, but more for the company of his friends, as they were never just colleagues, but raconteurs. Of course, he always found time to sneak out to a tennis court for a few hits.
Eddie beat cancer in 2014 allowing him 11 extra years to see his grandkids grow. He not only got to see them grow up, he played an integral roll in their lives. He got to take Arlo to taekwondo weekly, with "kamsahamnida" (thank you in Korean) becoming a part of his regular verbiage. He also had the privilege of seeing Maddox graduate high-school, start at Chattahoochee Tech and witnessed her grow into a responsible adult. Seeing his grandchildren grow was a privilege he never took for granted.
Eddie passed away at home on Monday, May 5, 2025, almost 50 years to the day he met his beloved wife, Sharon. He is survived by his wife, three sons; Evan (Kristie) Falconer, Adam (Laura) Falconer, Andrew (Amber) Falconer, two grandchildren; Maddox Falconer and Arlo Falconer, and brother Thomas Falconer.
A private family celebration will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or if you are so inclined, please donate blood. Eddie was a universal O- donor, gave blood regularly and felt strongly about it
