Edward Cornelius Randolph, affectionately known as Everette, was born on April 8, 1931, in Elberton, Georgia, the youngest of five children born to the late Joseph and Marie Randolph. He accepted Christ at a young age and became a devoted member of Saint Mary’s CME Church, where his spiritual foundation was formed.
Edward graduated from Elberton High School before relocating to Hartford, Connecticut, where he began building his adult life. In January 1950, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army and served his country with honor for three years. After completing his military service, he returned to Hartford, and on April 24, 1954, he married the love of his life, Geneva Louise Norman. From this union, they welcomed two beautiful children, Michael and Deborah.
Together, Edward and Geneva built a warm and fulfilling life, making Hartford their home for twenty-five years. Edward worked as a mechanical engineer for Acoustic Inc., and the couple served faithfully as dedicated members of Faith Congregational Church.
In 1979, the family moved to Southern, California, where Edward continued his career as a consultant for Acoustic Inc. and later became co-owner of the company. They embraced this new chapter with joy, sunshine, and community. After fifteen years on the West Coast, they returned to Woodstock, Georgia, in 1994 to enjoy retirement near their roots. Throughout their 64 years of marriage, Edward and Geneva shared a deep passion for travel, exploring the United States, the Caribbean, and parts of Europe side by side. In 2004, they had a spectacular 50th Wedding Anniversary, enjoyed by friends and family who traveled near and far to honor their remarkable union.
Edward and Geneva’s love story was one of devotion and steadfast commitment. He honored his vows “in sickness and in health,” caring tenderly for his “Sweet Geneva” throughout her years of illness until her passing in 2018 at the age of 83.
Edward was known for his quick sense of humor, generous heart, and outgoing personality—a man who truly never met a stranger. His easy smile, impeccable style, love of fine dining, and genuine affection for people made him unforgettable to all who crossed his path. He embraced life fully and encouraged others to do the same.
He held a profound and enduring admiration for his devoted caregiver, Marlana Holmes-Yorker, whose steadfast love and compassionate care sustained both him and Geneva through their later years. Marlana stood faithfully beside each of them, offering comfort, dignity, and unwavering presence when they answered the Lord’s call.
Though his health was failing, Edward was blessed to reach his 95th birthday on April 8th and peacefully departed this life on April 12th. The month of April has always been special for him, and this year he would have marked his 72nd wedding anniversary on April 24th. He was a phenomenal man—a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and true friend to many.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geneva Louise Randolph, and his daughter, Deborah Annita Randolph.
Edward leaves to cherish his memories: his son, Joseph Michael Randolph, (Angela), his grandson, Trevor Cornelius Randolph; and a large and deeply connected family. With heartfelt regret, we are unable to individually name each niece, nephew, cousin, and extended relative, as we do not wish to overlook anyone. Please know that Edward loved his family dearly, and each of you held a special place in his heart. He also leaves behind countless friends who will forever remember him with deep love, gratitude, and admiration.
