

Mrs. Elizabeth “Joan” Sappington, 77, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away February 3, 2015. She was born on October 2, 1937 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late Joseph and Lola Kling. Joan graduated from Albany High School. She worked for various companies as a book keeper. Joan received an associate’s degree in data processing from Augusta Technical College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. She taught data processing at Augusta Technical School and North Metro Tech. She loved to travel and has been to many places around the world. Joan also enjoyed photography and painting. She was a member of the Woodstock Senior Center and the 50 Plus Club at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max E. Sappington and sister, Mary Frances Corley. Joan leaves behind her son, Steven Sappington (Kellie), daughter, Michelle Gunn (Joe) and sisters, Peggy Andreoletti, Bernice Blakey (John) and J. Lynn Tolbert (Jim). A prayer service will be Friday, February 6, 2014 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A committal service will be Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2:00pm at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, GA.
