Gayle Frances “Gigi” Baert, age 57, of Chapin, SC, formerly of Woodstock, GA, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018. Gayle was one of two girls born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shearburn. She grew up in California and became a long time resident of Woodstock, Georgia.
She was a caring, creative individual with a servant’s heart. Gayle had natural talents - she worked with various minerals and stones to create sculptures and made countless pieces of jewelry that she showcased at festivals and online. She loved being outdoors whether it was hiking, camping, gardening or being out by the lake. Gayle was a loving and selfless person; she spent many years volunteering for the Woodstock Lion’s Club and Woodstock High School Booster Club managing the concession stand. She was such a blessing to be around as she only had positive things to say of others, always smiled and tried to be uplifting to those around her. Gayle was a loving wife, caring mother, the best “Gigi” anyone could ask for and caretaker for her three furbabies.
Gayle’s memory will be cherished by her husband, Timothy Baert; son, Wesley Graves; daughters, Cristina Sanders (Jessie) and Amber Graves (Jace); stepchildren, Braden Baert, Marisa Baert and Hunter Reyes; sister, Theresa Shearburn; brother in law, Jeff Borden; grandchildren, Phoenix and Lyric; and many cousins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home 8855 Main Street Woodstock, GA 30188 with Celebration of Life Services held at 11:00 AM Friday in the Reece Memorial Chapel with Rev. Billy J. Edmondson officiating. A Reception will follow at Bradshaw Farm Clubhouse 3030 Bradshaw Club Drive Woodstock, GA 30188 - all are invited to come.
