OBITUARY

Glenn Dale McHenry

July 2, 1956April 14, 2019

With bright blue eyes and dimples for days, it was hard to miss Glenn when he came in the room. Sometimes he would even come down the stairs at home, check himself out in the mirror, and enthusiastically start singing “I’m Too Sexy” with his usual cheeky grin. Throughout his life, he brought the same vibrance and humor to everyone he loved.

On Sunday, April 14, 2019, Glenn Dale McHenry passed away at the age of 62 after a yearlong battle with lung cancer.

Glenn was born in Kansas City, Kansas to Charles and Vera McHenry. After working his way up the ladder with Bellsouth Entertainment, with which he transitioned to AT&T, he went back to school to gain his bachelors degree in business from Shorter University. While Glenn had many accomplishments, it is clear that what he was most proud of was his family. On December 26, 2002, Glenn and the love of his life, Candi, got married in Las Vegas – don’t worry, it was planned. That was the beginning of their big, beautiful blended family with his four sons and her son and daughter.

At the heart of it all, Glenn was truly a musician. He dreamed of jumping around to different beachside venues in retirement to play the blues and rock he graced his family and friends with his whole life. One of his deepest joys came from turning up the amp and playing a little bit of Clapton at any given time; his music making will be sorely missed. Along with his musical gifts, he was known for his quick wit, calming presence, leadership, gentleness, and humor.

Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Charles. He is survived by his wife, Candi, his four sons, Jacob, Kyle, Tyler, and Dylan, his stepchildren, Joel and Sarah, his grandchildren, Jett, Miles, and Blair, his mother, Vera, his brother, Chris, his sister, Pam and many other family members and friends he counted as such.

While there will be no formal services, we will be having a small family memorial at Glenn’s son and daughter-in-law’s farm in Missouri.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Glenn and my boys (even though I stole it from Candi 😊) They are so happy with big smiles!
Glenn Dale thank you for our boys and being such a wonderful father! I know your the only one the planet that loves them as much as I do! Glenn..May you rest in everlasting peace. Candi..you now have your very own personal angel by your side forever. I only knew him a short while..but he always greeted me with a big smile and those dimples to the moon and back. May God be with you and your family during this time of loss. I am thinking of you always..
