Celebration of Life for Godwin SonimeGodwin Sonime was a man of quiet strength, deep devotion, and remarkable intellect whose life touched many across family, friendship and community. Born in Okrika, Rivers State, Nigeria to the late Mr. Taminiobuomi Sonime and the late Mrs. Cecile Sonime. He carried forward the values they instilled in him – integrity, perseverance, and love for family.Gifted with a sharp mind and a passion for technology, Godwin built a life marked by purpose and excellence. He earned a Business Administration degree with a minor in Accounting from Clayton State University and a Computer Network Engineering Certificate from North Metro Technical School in Acworth, Ga.Godwin applied his talents in service to others through his work with Worldspan and Wellstar Health Systems.An Entrepreneur at heart, he also proudly owned and operated his own technology company. Always striving to create, solve and uplift. Above all Godwin cherished his family. On March 7, 1994 he united in marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia Sonime.Together they built a blended family, rooted in love and shared purpose. He was a devoted husband and a guiding presence to his children Dana (Jerry), Flenor, Lavonda Johnson, Jared Johnson, Alexander Sonime and Nemi Sonime.Godwin’s legacy lives on through his siblings, brothers George (Yulanda), Dagogo (Mina), Daniel, Tamunotonye, Ibibia (Roli), Sunny (Fillence), Charles, and his sister Tammy. As well as his sister in law Elease Johnson and brother in law Leotis (Lois) Johnson. He leaves behind a wide circle of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who were blessed by his wisdom, kindness and steady presence.Though our beloved has entered into rest, we hold fast to our faith and hope. It is our belief that when Christ returns to call his Saints, we shall be reunited again. Until that glorious day, Godwin’s life will continue to speak through the love that he gave, and the lives he forever changed.
