Greg and I treated a large number of patients together. I did the surgery and he made them look good, thereafter, with his exceptionally great dental talents. He was far more than just a dentist. He was quick-witted, exceptionally bright, and always knew how to put people, and patients, at ease. He NEVER would accept "close enough for government work" type dentistry. He always wanted, and did, the best work humanly possible. We also shared a football background, both of us having played quarterback. I practiced, part time, in St. Augustine, which is how we met, but when I became full time only in Orange Park, Greg would come up to my office every time we did surgery on one of his patients, so he could guide what was being done. He was irreplaceable. Anyone, and everyone, who interacted with Greg, knew that. Right now, Greg has God laughing at one of Greg's comments, in Heaven! We'll meet again one day, my friend, just not this day.

Marlene, so so sorry for your loss…..Greg was a great guy and will be missed by all…..glad you have so much support here in Hickory Bluffs ❤️. Here when you need me.  Love, Lori

Greg will be remembered by us as fun loving and just a tad ( well a lot) cheeky!
We will always remember playing Play Nine and Ticket to Ride with him and Marlene. His favourite catch phrase that he would say many times was ‘ this game hates me’ even though he was winning!

Greg and Marlene were such a great couple. We had the privilege of spending time with them both and were saddened to  hear of Greg’s passing. 
Greg had such a wonderful sense of adventure and was an inspiration to those whose lives he touched. 
We will always cherish our memories of him.

Marlene and family,

I was so shocked when I heard that Greg had passed. I am so sorry and I am praying for you and your family.  

I thought I would share a memory. 
Greg hired me right out of Dental Hygiene school, and he always joked and said “somebody had to hire her,  even if she was from Arkansas!”  We would laugh and go on. He was good at that, always joking around.  His patients adored him too!  I worked for him 13 years and it was the best office I have ever worked in. He was very supportive while I grew as a hygienist. I look back on those years and realize how wonderful it was. 
I am forever grateful of the time I knew him. I know the last times we visited, he told me how thrilled he was in his retirement and how he was loving pickleball. 
He is gone way too soon!  
Rest in peace Doc!  You will be missed by so many.

Greg was a wonderful friend to me for 30 years. I can't really find the words to say what a great guy he was and how much he meant to me.

He loved his kids and was a great dad. He loved his wife very much. One of the happiest I ever saw Greg was when he met Marlene. He was smiling from ear to ear.

To know Greg was to love him.

I was always so proud to tell my friends that my brother-in-law, Greg, was a dentist. A doctor in the family! Even though we lived in the Orlando area and Greg’s practice was in St. Augustine, twice every year we would drive to his office for cleanings and dental care. Some of my friends thought I was nuts, but we didn’t trust anyone more and it gave us the opportunity to spend an afternoon with Greg and his family. Each year Greg would come “home” to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas at his parent’s house in Winter Park and every year we also spent the July 4th holiday together in New Smyrna Beach with the entire Russell family to celebrate John’s birthday (Greg’s father). These will always be some of my fondest memories. With each opportunity spent together, we shared inside jokes, played boardgames, and laughed a lot while creating new memories. I loved watching the sibling dynamic between Doug, Glenn and Greg, and saw the pride John and Lois had for the family they created. I think we all especially enjoyed watching our children, “the cousins”, grow and mature from babies, to teenagers, to accomplished adults. When I married into the Russell family, I had no idea what a blessing it would be to be included and embraced by such a loving and supportive family. Although it was heartbreaking to think of Greg passing far too soon and with so many unrealized hopes and dreams, I think another one of my fond memories of Greg, to add to so many of the times we spent during holidays and family gatherings, is the memory of him in his final hours surrounded by his family. With little warning, we all found a way to make sure we could be by his side to support each other and to make sure that he was loved and not alone.

I will never forget Greg! I met you all in the Dominican Republic during one of the happiest times, our honeymoon! Over ten years ago! What a fun guy, someone with such great charisma and care! I will never forget the dinner Greg and his beautiful wife Marlene gifted to us in the Airport upon reaching the US.  My love goes to friends and family of Greg.

Marlene we are devastated to hear of Greg’s death. We have so many great memories with both of you on our Viking River Cruise as well as the times we visited you in Florida. Our visits were filled with so much laughter and great story telling! Greg was amazing! You were both amazing. I know how much Greg will be missed especially as your life partner. The two of you loved to travel both near and far. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time and in the days to come.
