Harvey Atsma

Harvey Atsma of Acworth, Georgia passed quietly from this earth after his battle with cancer and entered into the loving care of the Lord on September 27th, 2026. He was born in Houston, Texas on May 10th, 2002 and lived with his family in Silverton, Oregon and moved to Georgia in 2005.

Harvey’s caring spirit fueled his love for life, people, and the things that brought them together. He had a deep love for sports and competed in track and football at Woodstock High School. Harvey was passionate about the Atlanta Falcons and loved to strategize his fantasy football league with his friends. He loved good food, music, gaming online, and fishing on the lake. Harvey also took great pride in his Lexus IS 350 FSport. After he graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in marketing, Harvey worked for the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena as part of the Guest Experience team. He found joy and pride in serving others during sporting events and concerts. Harvey had a fun-loving spirit, a curious mind, and an ability to find enjoyment in many interests and aspects of life.

More than anything, Harvey loved his family, his friends, and Jesus. He cared deeply about the people in his life and valued time spent together, laughter, friendship, and making memories. Harvey's life was far too short, but the love he gave, the joy he shared, and the memories he created will remain with those who knew him. His legacy is a reminder to love deeply, care for one another, and enjoy the life God has given us.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Duane and Ardel Jury.

Survivors include his parents, Arthur and Beverly Atsma; sisters, Opal (Eron) Mason, Gracie (Mat) Matthews, and Stella Atsma; brothers, Clarence (Evan Furst) Atsma, and Anthony Atsma; niece, Hazel Mathews; nephew, Henry Mathews; grandparents, Gerben and Anna Atsma; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A gathering will be held at His Hands Church 550 Molly Ln, Woodstock, GA 30189 on October 3rd at 5:30 pm followed by a celebration of life at 7:30 pm.
