Jackson David Afshar

Born on May 12, 2005, in Marietta, Georgia, Jackson brought joy, intelligence, humor, and unwavering loyalty to all who knew him. He attended Davis Elementary School, Mabry Middle School, and Lassiter High School, graduating in 2023. Jackson continued his education at Kennesaw State University before transferring to the University of Georgia, where he was pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. An exceptional student, he maintained a 3.9 GPA and was a proud member of the Theta Tau Engineering Fraternity.

Jackson's curiosity and dedication were evident in everything he pursued. He was a skilled chess player, loved solving puzzles, and could still solve a Rubik’s Cube in under a minute. A devoted sports fan, Jackson enjoyed following nearly every professional sport. He played lacrosse for nearly 10 years and later became an avid golfer who cherished time spent on the course. He was also deeply passionate about anime and manga, especially One Piece, and was equally known for his encyclopedic knowledge of Pokémon as he was of sports stats.

Jackson loved video games and excelled at them. He was particularly fond of Brawl Stars and Clash Royale. Whether competing in games, discussing sports, solving puzzles, or sharing his latest interests, Jackson brought enthusiasm and energy to every conversation. He was a true animal lover and a fiercely loyal friend whose presence made people feel valued and supported. His family and friends will forever cherish his sense of humor, his bright spirit, and the countless memories he created.

Jackson was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Mohsen Afshar.

He is survived by his loving parents, David and Bethany Afshar; his sister, Kathleen ("Katie") Afshar; and a large extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him deeply.

Though his life was far too short, Jackson's impact on those around him was profound. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
