James Vincent Hargraves Jr. of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025 at the age of 67. He was known as Vince to some, Vinnie to wife, Papa to his kids, Grandpa to a precious few, and Uncle Bubba to his extended family. Vince is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Mae Hargraves, his daughter Christie (Josh) Waltier, his son James V. “Jimmy” Hargraves III, his grandchildren Zoe, Henry, Brooks, his sister Connie (Jerry) Maxey and many other extended family members.
Born on July 17, 1957 in Jacksonville, FL, Vince was the pure definition of a people person, he never met a stranger – he loved helping his neighbors and striking up random conversations at the hardware store or the local watering hole. He loved to tell you a good story!
He was an avid fisherman, woodworker, and musician & song writer. Vince, a man of many talents and interests, could fix anything and was often heard saying “I’ve got something out in my shop” for any variety of project. At one time or another, Vince was a sailor in the US Navy, retiree from The Coca-Cola Company, and perhaps his personal favorite, a lawn mower repairman.
In the past two years, Vince achieved one of his life goals – purchasing an RV! He spent many hours working on it and enjoyed trips to camp at the lake with his wife and his grandchildren.
Above all, Vince loved God and greatly looked forward to seeing his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through many hard circumstances, the light of God shone through Vince and was reflected in his cheerful love for his family, friends, and neighbors. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
