Jim honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. When he returned home, Jim enrolled in the Manhattan College. He enjoyed a career as an engineer. He worked for GE in New York and later, Gould when he lived in Cleveland. Jim enjoyed golfing, bowling, working on his model trains and collecting magazines. He was a devout Catholic and a member of The Catholic Church of the Transfiguration. Jim was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband and the kind of friend you would want by your side. His beloved wife, Gisele, preceded him in death. Left behind are stepdaughters, Karen Masello, Kathleen Rowe and Vickie Rowe (Danny McGinnes); step grandchildren, Lisa Carpenter, Scott Carpenter, Michelle Carpenter Purcell and Matthew Carpenter; and brother, Greg Hill.
There will be a mass on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 3:00pm at The Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, Marietta, GA. Jim will be laid to rest on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 11:30am at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
