

On March 12, 2026, Dr. James I. Millhouse, 77, passed peacefully at his residence Pruitt Health Care of Marietta, Ga. from complications of Dementia. James Ivan Millhouse was born November 28, 1948, in Flint, Michigan. He is preceded in death by his mother, Iva Mae Russell Millhouse and his father, Ernest Millhouse.
James grew up and attended public school in Flint, Michigan and received his Doctor of Psychology from Michigan State University. Shortly after receiving his Ph.D.in Psychology, he relocated to the Atlanta area.
While in Atlanta, Dr. Millhouse worked in private practice and with the Atlanta Psychological Associates. He also worked with local sports directors, athletes and High School coaches as a sports Psychologist. He worked alongside Coach Sid Maxwell, as Sports Psychologist, at Sequoyah High School (Chiefs), Canton, Ga. and Lambert High School (Longhorns), Suwanee, Ga. In 1996, Dr. Millhouse served on the U.S. Olympic Committee in Atlanta and worked with the U.S. Army Olympic Wrestling team.
Dr. Millhouse was a leading clinical sports psychologist with over 25 years of success helping athletes at all levels achieve their athletic potential. He provided an easy to understand, step by step, guide for parents through his book, The Parents Manual of Sport Psychology: A Practical Guide to Achieving Athletic Success.
