James "Kenny" Kenneth Moore II passed on September 30, 2026. Kenny was born on January 29, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri, to James Kenneth Moore and Vivian Lucille Moore. He passed peacefully on September 30, 2026. He was the only son among five children and grew up alongside his four sisters, Leslie, Diane, Mary, and Kathy. From an early age, he developed a love for sports and competition, playing baseball, basketball, and football from the age of eight through high school. His athletic talent was especially evident on the baseball field, where his powerful pitching abilities earned the attention of scouts. At just 15-years-old, Kenny was scouted by the Los Angeles Dodgers, a testament to both his natural talent and dedication to the game.
Kenny attended Southwest High School in Kansas City, graduating in 1976. He continued his education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business in 1980.
His strong work ethic began early. While in high school, Kenny worked at A&P Grocery Store, starting as a grocery sacker and working his way up to cashier. This commitment to hard work would become a defining characteristic throughout his life and career.
Kenny went on to build a successful and respected professional career, dedicating 31 years to Alcon Pharmaceuticals, where he served as an Eastern Sales Manager. His career reflected the same determination and perseverance that characterized every aspect of his life.
Above all else, Kenny was devoted to his family. On December 28, 1985, he married his wife, Teri. Together they built a life centered on love, hard work, and family, sharing 40 years of marriage. Kenny took great pride in caring for his family and supporting those he loved. His greatest accomplishments were not found in his professional success but in the life he built with Teri and their three children: Katherine (Katie) Monroe, Allison Harrell, and James Kenneth Moore III (Trey). He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend whose steady presence, generous spirit, and quiet strength touched countless lives.
In 1989, Kenny and his family relocated to Woodstock, Georgia, where they became part of the Eagle Watch community. He quickly embraced the friendships that made the neighborhood feel like home for decades to come. An avid golfer and tennis player, Kenny could often be found on the course or courts, enjoying competition and making memories with family and friends. His love of sports extended far beyond his youth, providing him not only the enjoyment and competition but also the many friendships he treasured most.
Kenny is survived by his beloved wife, Teri Moore; his two daughters, Katie Monroe and husband Brandon Monroe of Tampa, Florida, Allison Harrell and husband Josh Harrell of Vidalia, Georgia, and Trey Moore and his fiancé Maria Meyer of Woodstock, Georgia; his grandchildren, Luke Little (15), Brooks Harrell (7), Grant Monroe (6) and Eleanor Monroe (4); his sisters, Diane Huttie and Mary Foland; his brothers-in-law, Stuart Foland and Matt Green IV and wife Jennifer Green; and his father-in-law, Matt Green III, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Kenneth Moore and Vivian Lucille Moore; his grandparents Henry and Leona Moore and Nellie Krump; his sisters Leslie Ober, Kathy Barnes; and his mother-in-law Barbara Green.
Though Alzheimer's disease gradually took much from him, it never diminished the love he shared with his family or the impact he made on the lives of those around him. Kenny will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his devotion to family and friends, and the kindness and integrity that defined his life.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main St, Woodstock, Georgia 30188, on October 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by A Celebration of Life at Woodstock Funeral Home on October 10, 2026, beginning at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Kenny's honor to the Alzheimer's Association: https://www.alz.org/
