James "Jim" Perry Parker

Jim was born on December 9, 1956, in Marietta, Georgia, to the late James "Pete" Parker and Mary Parker. A lifelong resident of Marietta, Jim spent his career working in drywall, at Residential Drywall with his brother, where he was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a hand.

Jim had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor. He was always looking for a way to make people laugh, even in the most unexpected moments. One favorite family memory was when he received his first prosthetic leg and happily let a family member cover it with colorful Sharpie drawings at the office, despite everyone else telling him not to. That playful spirit was simply who he was.

He enjoyed spending his time watching ball games, scratching lottery tickets, and being with the people he loved. Jim was the kind of person who would help anyone in need without hesitation. He could be rough around the edges at times, but those who knew him best also knew his generous heart, his loyalty, and how deeply he was loved.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James "Pete" Clyde Parker and Mary Ruth Parker.

Jim is survived by his brother, Tim Parker and his wife, Staci; his sister, Patty Worst and her husband, Steve; and six beloved nieces, three nephews, and ten great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom will cherish his memory.

Jim will be honored with a visitation at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia, on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at Woodstock Funeral Home at 12:00 pm.

Jim will be laid to rest with his parents at Georgia Memorial Park, 2000 Cobb Pkwy SE, Marietta, Georgia, on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 2:30 pm.
