

Janice Marie (Lukasezck) Leanna, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, age 80, of Marietta, Georgia passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert Joseph Leanna of Marietta, Georgia, daughters, Tamie England and her husband Richard of Pembine, Wisconsin, Terri Perenich and her husband Greg of Cartersville, Georgia and Tracie Leanna of Acworth, Georgia. She is also survived by grandchildren, Stephanie Davis, Mandy Menne, Sean England and Richie England, Lindsay Cagle, Jenna Wheeler and, Ashley Oscarson and Derrek Oscarson; great grandchildren, Tyler, Ally and Ella Cagle, Haley and Danica Davis, Mason, Chase and Brett Menne, Courtney, Kaitlyn and Jayden England, Emery Oscarson and Adalynn Wheeler, great great grandchildren, Grayson and Callie Grace Cagle. Janice was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Evelyn (Kubick) Lukasezck, brother, Roger Lukasezck, granddaughter Jamie Barker, mother and father in law Joe and Clara Leanna, her sister Marilyn O’Neill and her precious dog Sassy.
Janice was born and raised in Goodman, Wisconsin and graduated from Goodman High School in 1957. Jan met Bob in her sophomore year of high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force after his graduation and Jan finished high school two years later before they wed in 1957. After they married they moved to Denver, Colorado where Bob was stationed. Denver is where they started their family when their first daughter Tamie was born. They later transferred to Colorado Springs to the Air Force Academy. In 1959 they moved to Milwaukee after Robert’s enlistment ended and Jan spent her time as a homemaker taking care of their daughter. In 1960 they welcomed their second daughter Terri and in 1963 they made their way to Pembine, Wisconsin where Bob’s parents lived, they also welcomed their third daughter Tracie that year. In Pembine Jan helped at the family owned Algonquin Hotel, she worked for the Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine school system and in 1966 she then went to work for Pembine Wausaukee Bank. Bob and Jan went on to purchase the local grocery store, they owned the store until 1984 when it was sadly lost to fire. From there they made the big move to Marietta, Georgia. Jan went to work for MSI International where she worked in accounting for 24 years until her retirement.
Jan loved spending time with her family, she enjoyed many mountain retreats and family vacations. She was known for her wonderful cooking and the ability to cook enough to feed an army! Jan lived a full happy life and her memory will live on in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta, Georgia.
The family would like to thank everyone for all of the support and love and a special thank you to Northside Cherokee Hospital for the wonderful care that she received there.
