He is preceded in death by his mother Dolores Alvey.
Jerry was born on October 21, 1957 and grew up a determined young man who enlisted in the Air Force at just 17 years old. He went on to enroll at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, FL where he received his Bachelor's degree and became an officer in the Air Force. It was there that he met the love of his life and mother of his children, Terri Alvey. They married in 1984 and went on to raise 3 daughters. Jerry advanced through the ranks of the Air Force, serving in Operation Just Cause and Operation Desert Storm. He retired as a Major from the Air Force after 43 years of service but continued to work at the Dobbins Air Reserve Base simulator as the Chief Navigator Instructor until his death.
Known for his humor and fun spirit, Jerry brought joy to all those around him. He loved Harleys and hotrods and never shied away from a good time. He filled his childrens and wifes lives with fun, taking them on countless vacations to the beach, amusement parks, and spending summers on his boat, camping out on Lake Allatoona. He was a loving grandfather, "Pop-Pop", and lived his life for his children and grandchildren. He loved his family immensely, and he will be deeply missed.
