Jesse lived a long life highlighted by his dedication to the United States Army at which he served honorably for over 30 years before retiring. Jesse achieved the esteemed rank of Chief Warrant Officer Four during his career, a rank for those who are experts in their field and skilled at leadership. He also was a long-standing member of the Old Guard Battalion of the Gate City Guard, an Atlanta-based civic organization founded shortly after the Civil War to advocate for national healing and patriotism. He also worked with organizations to thank them for their support of military veterans.
Jesse was connected to the love of his life, Tamara, by his cousins who lived near where he grew up. They enjoyed a long and happy marriage and raised two children together. She supported his military career and his later career as an engineer for Boeing where he notably helped create the Delta-4 rockets which aided the United States in keeping this country safe as well as supporting NASA and even had some commercial use.
Jesse was a pillar in his fields and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Martin and Inez Velma Caddell; and his wife, Tamara Caddell.
He is survived by his siblings Jenny (James) Clanton and Bill (Peggy) Caddell Jr.; his two children, Jesse Caddell Jr. and Wendy (Timothy) Altom; and grandsons, Timothy Jr. and Phillip Altom.
