Jim Hadden meant a lot of things to a lot of people. He was a loved one, a special friend and was known to those that turned to him in time of need as “a provider.” When it came to assisting others he believed in the theory of “why say no, when yes feels so good?” For those that opened their heart to him, he was loving, comforting, reassuring and supportive.
Jim fell into the loving arms of our creator on Thursday, March 8th. His peaceful transition was a blessing to his family and truly represented a life well lived.
Jim was born in Texas and spent considerable time living in North Carolina where he went to Grimsley High School and Gilford College. He enlisted in the US Navy and is a war veteran. Mr. Hadden worked as a financial services representative and retired in 1981. He and his wife then moved to Woodstock, GA in 1994. After taking several jobs to help pass the time he joined the Marietta Daily Journal and worked there for over 10 years.
Considering all of the blessings in his life he would tell you that none were more cherished than his family. He and his wife Sylvia were married for 48 years. Jim’s treasured children were daughter, Grace Cook and husband, Jim (Marietta) and sons John Hadden, and wife Susie (Tampa) and Joe Hadden and wife, Lisa (Jacksonville). In addition, were his grand-children Samantha and Jonathan Montague, Amanda and Victoria Hadden and Lindsey (Hadden) Owens, and great-grandchildren, Kenzie & Kaylie Hemphill, Maddox Montague (and Monroe Montague…in early April).
In recent years he began to walk closer to the Lord and was confident that those who believed in Him will live in eternal peace. He was a member of St. Andrews Methodist Church.
The Celebration of Life Services will be held at Woodstock Funeral Home at 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 15th, 2018.
