John Thomas Blevins

John T. Blevins, age 85 of Woodstock, GA passed away May 30, 2011 as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in March of this year. John was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a retired educator, the last position he held was principal of E. T. Booth Middle School in Woodstock. John was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Woodstock. He was preceded in death by his son Charles T. Blevins. He is survived by wife Shirley Blevins, daughter, Jada Brookshire and husband Gary of Woodstock, sons, Terry Blevins and wife Phyllis of Dutton, AL, Derrick Crisp and wife Doreen of Woodstock, Blake Crisp and wife Leisa of Trenton, GA, daughter-in-law Donna Blevins sisters, Betty Castleberry of Trenton, GA and Dorothy Durham of TN, brother, Kenneth Blevins of Ider. AL, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church Woodstock, Rev. Aaron Brookshire and Rev. John Pope officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 PM in Ider, AL The family will receive friends TODAY, June 1, 2011 from 2 until 4 and 6 until 9 PM at the funeral home.
