John Brisacone, age 88, of Woodstock, Georgia, formerly of Seaford, New York, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 in Marietta, Georgia. John was known as “Johnny” by friends and more affectionately known as “Hun” by his wife of 64 years, Pauline. John was born to the late Francesco Brisacone and the late Linda Antonia Giannico Brisacone on February 27, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the middle of three including his sister, Grace, who passed at a young age and brother, Barry. After meeting and marrying the love of his life, Pauline, John had three children: Linda, Peter and Pauline. His family later grew to include many beloved in laws, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
John was an easy going guy who had a joyful heart. He was the kind of man who was a friend to everybody and could only be spoken of in great words. He was humble and patient and enjoyed discovering the inner workings and mechanics of things. He never claimed to know everything, but he managed to know a little about everything. When things would break around the house, he had the attitude that you couldn’t make it worse so why not take it apart and try fix it – and fix it he did. Many times his children would see him end up with an extra bolt and say, “I guess they didn’t need that.” He was jokingly known as MacGyver to many even though he didn’t have a clue who that was.
John had a great sense of humor and was the best at telling jokes. He enjoyed bowling, building models, good food, a good glass of scotch and road trips – but not at the same time. He enjoyed socializing with his breakfast crew at IHOP every Monday and driving his convertible mustang until he was 85 years old. He lived a life full of love from his family, laughter with his friends, being one of the “Sons of Italy” and proud of having served his country as a Navy Veteran. As John’s family reminisce about him, they all come to the same conclusion – to know John was to love him.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Francesco and Linda Antonia Brisacone, and sister, Grace Brisacone.
His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Pauline Pellegrino Brisacone of Woodstock, Georgia; children, Linda Budion (Larry) of East Rockaway, New York, Peter Brisacone of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Pauline Mandato (John) of Milton, Georgia; brother, Barry Brisacone (Angelina) of Staten Island, New York; grandchildren, Anthony Budion (Tiana), John Budion, Diana Budion, Melissa Mandato, Nicholas Budion and Samantha Mandato; great-grandchildren, McKayla and Maddox Budion; nephew, Barry Brisacone Jr. (Jacqueline) of Central Valley, New York; niece, Andrea Attanasio (Daniel) of Bridgewater, New Jersey; and many cousins, extended family and friends.
