

John met the love of his life, Cheryl Jones, in 1962 in the northern woods of Wisconsin. Their connection grew into a lifelong partnership, and they were married in 1969. Cheryl preceded him in death on November 21, 2017.
He attended Westview High School in Kankakee, Illinois, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago. In 1967, John was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served until 1969 as a Technical Platform Instructor.
John began his professional career with IBM in Chicago in 1967, briefly leaving to fulfill his military service before returning to the company. Over the years, he built a successful career, excelling as a Senior Project Manager. He was later transferred to Marietta, Georgia, where he worked as an Education Course Developer. John and Cheryl ultimately settled in Acworth, Georgia, where they spent the remainder of their lives together.
A man of strong faith, John was a devoted member of Bascomb United Methodist Church, where he faithfully served as a Bible Study Instructor for many years.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, John was preceded in death by his brothers, Stephen and Donald Klenzak.
He is survived by his loving children, Rob (Paula) Klenzak of Clifton, Illinois, and Lisa Klenzak of Dallas, Georgia; his cherished granddaughters, Kaitlyn and April Klenzak of Chebanse, Illinois; his brother-in-law, Gary (Pam) Jones of Birchwood, Wisconsin; his sister-in-law, Cathy (Gary) Hennessee of Mount Morris, Illinois; as well as three nephews and one niece.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Illinois, with military honors to be conducted.
John will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his service to his country, and his unwavering faith. His legacy lives on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
