Johnnie Melvin Smith

Mr. Johnnie Melvin Smith, 95, of Canton departed this life Thursday, August 24, 2023, at home surrounded by his wife and children. Johnnie was born in Pikeville, TN to Luther and Flora Smith. Johnnie proudly served in the United States Army. In addition, he retired as a bus driver from Greyhound Bus Lines. Johnnie never stopped moving, he was always on a mission and if he couldnt find anything happening, he would create his next project. There was never a dull moment when he was around!

Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents, son Ralph, and daughter Katie. Survivors include his loving wife Shirley, daughters Char and Sandy, and sons John (Kim), Daniel (Lora), and Patrick (Trena). He was also a proud grandfather to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On Saturday, August 26, 2023, the family will receive guest for visitation and viewing from 1pm - 3pm, followed by the service in the chapel to remember and celebrate the life of Johnnie Smith.
