

Joseph Charles Hines was born on May 29, 1919 in Panama of Jamaican parents, the late George Hines and Sarah Hines. In addition to his parents, his wives Edna MacDonald Hines and Corelli Duggan; his sisters Mae Hines and Ivy Hines; his grandson John Jason Hines preceded him in death.
He attended the Jamaica School of Agriculture, and upon graduation, began a career as an Agricultural Extension Officer. In that capacity, in his early years, he traveled to Ecuador to teach farmers various soil and plant preservation techniques. He played many other roles throughout his long and fulfilling life as; associate minister; community activist; college professor; author and Justice of the Peace. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Mechanics Lodge.
He will be sorrowfully missed by his wife Dorothy Hines of The Bronx New York; sons, John Joseph Hines (Annette Hines) of The Bronx, New York and Paul MacDonald Hines (Marcella Hines) of Woodstock, Georgia. He will also be missed by two grandsons, Three granddaughters, two great -grandchildren, a niece, two nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends
Funeral services were held Friday, April 27, 2012 at 12:00 pm at the Woodstock Funeral Home Chapel, Senior Pastor Michael Sloan officiated. Entombment followed at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia
