

Karl was an avid poker player. Many of his favorite times were spent around a table playing with friends. He was well known for his custom-made shirts that announced his love for the game and his winning streaks.
He loved horses. Before moving to Georgia, he enjoyed the outdoors and the freedom of horseback trail riding.
He was a lifetime member of the Greater Louisville Training Club. In 1978 he became the second club member to obtain the elusive OTCH (Obedience Trial Champion) with his Border Collie, Ben. Ben was the number one Border Collie in the country for numerous years. His Border Collies, DREAMALOT, were some of the most titled and coveted dogs ever at that time. His offspring are still in current pedigrees today.
He had a zest for life and a fun-loving spirit. He was loved by everyone who met him. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Karl was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sheryle Nussbaum, his sisters Claudia, Janice, and Jeanine, and his brother Joey.
He is survived by his son, Joe (Sonya) Nussbaum; grandson, Alex (Annslea) Nussbaum; and great-granddaughter, Annabella Nussbaum. He is also survived by his sister Robin, and brother Mark.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Poole Funeral Home in Woodstock, Georgia.
