Katherine Brannan Couch

Katherine Brannan Couch, age 99, of Kennesaw, Ga.went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2026. She was born March 29, 1926 to Millard and Elberta Brannan of Chattanooga, TN. She courageously fought cancer and coupled with her age of almost 100, passed away.

Before her retirement, she was employed by Chattem Drug & Chemical Co. and Huffaker Real Estate in Chattanooga, TN. She was a graduate of the Tennessee Association of Realtors and a member of the National Association of Realtors and also was a licensed Realtor in Georgia. Katherine was also a Licensed Practical Nurse and received advanced training as an EMT. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was accepted as a Life Member of the National Registry of Who’s Who in 1999. She also volunteered at the Georgia Governor’s Mansion and belonged to her local chapter of the Red Hat Society. She loved antiques and collectibles and became the owner of Heritage Antiques & Treasurs Consignment store in Marietta, Ga.

She enjoyed traveling throughout the country and abroad and enjoyed boating on Chickamauga Lake. Her parents gave her own small boat when she was a young girl. She was an independent lady who liked to repair and remodel houses, paint and refinish furniture. Katherine was also an excellent seamstress, having dreams at a young age of becoming a fashion designer.

Katherine is survived by her children, Jacquelyn Webster and George Couch, Jr. (Bill) (Carolyn). Grandchildren Kimberly Funderburg (Scott Nichols), and Jason Couch. Great-grandson Nicholas Martinez. She was very close to her sister, Aline Black and her nieces Gwendolyn Greer, Janice Webb, Sharon Carr and their families.There will be a Memorial Visitation Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1:00—3:00pm.
