A crazy, fun, strong woman with a wicked sense of humor touched my life.  I didn't know her in high school, I knew her from the Zweibrucken reunions.  She showed us how to live and love life.  Thank you Steve for sharing Kathy with us and for being a part of the Zweibrucken family.  May you be comforted with the sweet memories.

I too was one of the priviledged few who knew Kathy in HS in Zweibrucken, and while our paths seperated for awhile, when we saw each other that day in St. Louis (2008) it was like we had never been apart as we talked about the old days. Her smile and laughter was infectiousand and for that she will truly always be remembered. While our paths have suddenly seperated again, I know one day they will cross and we will once again talk of the old days as if we were never apart. To Steve, your family, Kat's extended Zwei family, my heart is heavy today for your loss.

Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.  I didn't know Kathy personally but she is part of the Zwei family and that's good enough for me.  Rest well Kathy...

My deepest condolences to Kathy's husband Stephen her sisters, her brother, other relations and her closest friends. I was deeply shocked to learn of the passing of Kathy. She has gone far too soon but she has passed away peaceful and in a beautiful way, a way in which we all wish for. She was with and enjoying life with those she loved and those that loved her. She was creative and loved it when her and I discussed art and loved all her photos as artist. I could never win in lexilou aginst her as she managed to come up with 7 letter words to beat me. I met Kathy on Facebook, she began our friendship by comforting me. She became an inspiration and I looked forward to her charm, wit, personality, sense of humor and contact in general.  I was so looking forward to meeting her next summer. To her family my deepest sympathy, I can only tell you what Kathy said to me those months ago, "You don't believe it now, but there are easier peaceful days in your future". The sorrow and shock I feel at Kathy's passing are monumental. I had the privilege of knowing Kathy in Zweibrucken, Germany in the 1970s and then I hooked up with her again in Atlanta in 2005. The last time I saw Kathy was in St. Louis, MO in 2008. I was so looking forward to seeing her in Myrtle Beach, SC in June of 2012--I took it for granted that I would see her there.

To Steve and Sawyer, and all of Kathy's family, "I'm sorry" is so inadequate. There is nothing I can say that would make anyone feel better but please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. As you have seen from all of Kathy's Zwei friends, she is so well loved. I say that in the present tense because I don't feel Kathy is gone. She is still with us in Spirit and in our hearts, and she's just one step over, on the other side.

None of know when we'll join her but I feel better knowing she will greet me with a wink and her beautiful smile, raising her drink in a toast. Prost Kat! I love you.

To the family -she was a blessing to all who knew her.  Praying that you will receive the peace of God now and in the days to come.  I will miss her on our FB page and the reunions...her wit was not to be matched.  Kathy's winning smile will be treasured, and I'm glad to have known her for a little while.  So sorry that she had to leave so soon....God bless all of you.

Kat had what we all aspire for - a well rounded life full of happiness.  She brought sunshine into our world and you could always count on her to be forthright with you.  There are no perfect words to describe what she meant to our High School group from Germany as so much of what we felt for her was in our heart.  We will miss her candor, her laugh and her funny flare of wordsâ€¦.Our hearts go out to Kat's family.  We are deeply saddened to say goodbye so we will say, until then.  Love you Kat!

To those of you who knew and loved Kathy....it was her joy and love of family and friends that defined her...her wacky sense of humor that endeared her to us all...and her quick wit and compassion that gathered us around her.  Kat's personality bubbled over and I feel honored to have known this wonderful woman the bit I did. You stood on a mountain top that was all your own, and you lived life on your terms. You shouted to the world your heartfelt thoughts and expressed yourself straight from your soul without restraint in complete honesty. Without question, you were loyal to those you admired, loved, cared for, and respected. Your spirit grew best where there were smiles and laughter among family and friends. To be your friend was a place of honor, a place of great value, and definitely not a title to be taken for granted ... for, to be your friend was to be loved as well.
 
I, for one, refuse to say "good-bye" or "farewell" to you in this moment. I believe your journey has only begun and I look forward to when we will cross paths in another time. There, we will all share our adventures and laugh once again. Till then, know that you are so dearly loved, missed, and deeply thought of by your family, and family of friends.
 
I can close my eyes now and easily see you, tilting your glass from across the room with a wink and a smile, just as you would to all those you chose to be on your mountain top. The monuments you left behind in our hearts will far outlast anything anyone could ever build upon this Earth. Kat ... WE LOVE YOU!

I cannot begin to say I'm SO sorry for your loss... Kathy and I went to the same HS in Germany... She was such a vibrant and smart woman who knew how to make someone forget their sorrows with her words of wisdom, kindness and LOVE.
