

He was born on April 12, 1943, in Copperhill, Tennessee, to the late Shelby Kenneth Panter and Gladys P. Panter.
Ken was a devoted member of Real Life Christian Church in Woodstock. He served in the United States Army from 1960 until 1963. On December 17, 1962, he married the love of his life, Sonia L. White, and together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage.
Ken was a skilled carpenter and worked as a superintendent in construction with Local Union 225 for 40 years until his retirement. He also dedicated nearly three decades (1975–2004) to coaching pee wee football, influencing countless young lives. In his free time, he loved to fish and was honored as "Sportsperson of the Year."
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Mary Lou Panter, Martha Payne, and Douglas D. Panter.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sonia L. Panter; daughter, Susie Panter; son, Kenny (Dolcy) Panter; seven grandchildren; Crystal Sharp, Michael Wills, Justin (Kali) Panter, Cody (Ally) Panter, Christen Barnes, Bailey Panter, and Colton Panter; five great-grandchildren: Michael (Chyanne) Winterbauer, Matthew Winterbauer, Mason Sharp, Rylee Smith, and Cayson Panter; and one great-great-grandchild, Hunter Winterbauer.
He is also survived by his sisters, Sonja Ann Panter and Carolyn White, and cousins, James McDaniel, Sharon Hampton, and Karen Ward.
Ken's legacy of love, service, and dedication to family and community will live on through all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Real Life Christian Church, 7700 GA-92, Woodstock, Georgia. A celebration of life for Ken will be Monday, May 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Real Life Christian Church. Ken will be laid to rest on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at Georgia National Cemetery with Army honors, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia, 30114.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Real Life Christian Church in Woodstock, Georgia.
