Kurt Farhy

Kurt was born in New Jersey in 1953 to parents Sam and Louise (ne Pollison). He pursued a career in medical technology where he made a difference in the lives of countless people around the globe.

Kurt is survived and missed by his loving wife of 40 years, Cheri (ne Gibson) and his children Kimberly, Jason, Kristopher, Jillian, Kayla, and their spouses Joe, Laura, Daniel, and Levi. Kurts loving influence will always be part of his grandchildren: Joshua, Harrison, Thomas, Kasen, Ella, and Kai. His memory will be cherished by his brother Dennis and his spouse Sherry; along with his nieces and nephews DJ, Ashley, Jessica, Addie, and Rog.

As a husband, Kurt was loving, loyal, and steadfast. His commitment never waivered "no matter what". As a kind, respectful, and Godly leader, he was the first to forgive, offer a smile, and move on. Not easy to anger but fiercely protective of his "Mon Cheri", he will be immensely missed and loved always. Til we meet again sweetheart. Forty years wasnt long enough.

As a father, Kurt was always ready and willing to lend a hand or share his paternal wisdom but he also gave his children space to grow into the adults he was so proud of. He encouraged them to pursue their dreams and told them that they could do anything they wanted if they were determined. Kimberly will treasure that he taught her to love by example. As a father figure to Jason, they shared their love of music and he was instrumental in Jason becoming a musician. He taught Kristopher to stay the course and put faith and family first. He taught Jillian always to leave people smiling and honor her inner child by making life fun. He was Kaylas constant encourager and number one fan, and he taught her the true meaning of selfless love.

As Pop-Pop, Kurt took an active role in his grandchildren's lives. From teaching the art of fry-stealing and ketchup-dipping to Little Big Man (Kai) to the nightly ritual of looking at the moon with Kasen. He brought magic as he made quarters appear from thin air when he pulled them from Ellas ear. He taught Joshua to accept change. He showed his adventurous side to Harrison, trying to follow down the ski slope while recording the experience. He sought teachable moments, showing Thomas the inner workings of a pool filter and pump so that he could always be ready to swim.

Kurt embraced new opportunities and did everything with honesty, integrity, and generosity. He had strong values and was loved by everyone. He was the eternal optimist, always having a positive outlook on life. Kurt had incredible patience and always made time to help others. He would tell us to be there for each other.

His legacy will carry on as we remember to live our lives in sacrifice to one another. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 on Saturday, January 28 at Poole Funeral Home in Woodstock, Georgia and a celebration of Kurts life will be at 3:00. Immediately following, the family will have a reception at His Hands Church in the Fireplace Room, 550 Molly Lane, Woodstock, Georgia 30189 from 4:00-6:00 pm.
