

Larry Scott Buff, 90, of Suwanee, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 10th, 2026. He was born on July 12th, 1935, to the late Otis Austin and Elizabeth Buff in Hickory, North Carolina. Larry graduated from Blackburn High School in 1953. He earned a Bachelor of Science in textile engineering from North Carolina State University in 1957.
Larry and Glenda married in June 1960. Shortly thereafter, he was called back into service with the U.S. Army during the Korean Crisis. They moved to Pennsylvania and he developed a lifelong love of the Pocono Mountains and often returned to play golf over the years. Larry spent his career working for Amoco Fabrics and Fibers before retiring and Consulting in Asia for several years. He and Glenda traveled the world together, playing golf in every adventure, with Ireland being home to some of his favorite courses in the world.
He was an avid sailor, loved to fish and spend time with his family at their place in Mexico Beach. He will always be remembered for his patience, kindness and love of life. His motto was, “God gave you this life and you must live it well,” and he did.
We are so grateful for our wonderful caregivers that Dad loved so much, Juliet, Karshana, Simone and Okelia. They took such great care of Dad: singing the hymns he loved, reading the bible and creating space for laughter.
He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Scott Buff in addition to his parents. He is survived by his wife, Glenda, and their daughter, Karen Jackson (Kenneth) of Cumming, grandchildren Mary Margaret Selembo (Andrew) of Queen Creek, AZ, Douglas Selembo (Daniela) of Richmond, Virginia, his brother Norris Buff, and sisters Betty Smith and Sandra Scronce.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on July 25th at Poole Funeral Home, 1970 Eagle Drive in Woodstock, Georgia.
