Lorraine was born on November 8, 1949 in Canton, GA. Born to parents George and Annie Mae, she graduated from Ralph Bunche High School in 1967. From there, Lorraine took on a variety of domestic care jobs, anything from childcare and cleaning homes to janitorial staff at the schools.
Wherever she went, Lorraine never met a stranger. Her personality was contagious, and she was known for inviting anyone who had an appetite over to her home for a meal. Cooking was a way Lorraine showed love. She was a true Southern chef, and people that knew her frequently requested peach cobbler, greens, macaroni, and banana pudding.
In her free time, Lorraine enjoyed decorating her home, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and hosting people in her home. She spent her entire life living within the borders of Cherokee County. She was a natural born people-person; if you were lucky enough to spend an hour with her, you may have covered 20+ topics in that amount of time. She could talk about anything, with anyone, and that truly was a unique gift.
Lorraine is now reconnected with her beloved parents, George and Annie Mae Johnson, brother Walter Lewis Johnson, sister Betty Jean, daughter Melissa McCowan, and nephew Christian Johnson.
Surviving are daughter Rhonda (Dana) Hart, son Antwon (Casie) Moore, son Robert (Nicole) McKinney, grandchildren Demetrius (Kiley), Damien, Madison, Ashlyn, Dastin, Camryn, Mason, and Kayson, great-granddaughter Aubriella, sister Martha Nelle, nephews Scottie (Lisa) Johnson, Dennis (Sherry) Marks, Chanson Johnson, and nieces Tara (Gene) Nelson and Preshinda Crawford.
Also surviving in her honor is Julia Harris, a dear childhood friend.
