Louis Bristow Samford Jr.

Bristow was born in Miami, FL to the late Bristow and Evelyn Samford. He is survived by his wife Karen, his three sons, Bristow, Waldrop, and Ty of Columbus, GA; sister, Susan Shackelford, husband Steve and nieces and nephews, Jackson, Howie, Brittny, and Brianna Shackelford of Columbus, GA; Uncle John Sykes of Sebastian, FL; Uncle Dudley B. Samford, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; Aunt Corinne Samford of Avondale Estates, GA and many loved and cherished cousins and friends.

He attended Palmer Trinity School in Miami and Auburn University. He spent his entire life as a construction superintendent. Bristow was a man, who never sat down and in his free time could be found saltwater fishing, cooking, gardening, canning, doing honey do’s and spending time with his family. He took care of his mother in her last several years of life and made her weekly key lime pies.

Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 am at Bascomb United Methodist Church in Woodstock, GA.; Rev. Millie Kim will be officiating. The family will be greeting family and friends at 10:30 am at the church and will follow with a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Arrangements made by Woodstock Funeral Home.
