Louis Thon

Mr. Louis Warren Thon, 83, of Acworth, GA passed away July 24, 2015. Louis was born on January 28, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Louis and Bertha Thon. Louis is a graduate of North Catholic High School. He honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed careers with the Pennsylvania Railroad and United Airlines. Louis was a family man and a sports enthusiast coaching his three sons’ little league baseball & football teams, and cheering for the home town teams in each of the cities he called home: Philadelphia, Cleveland, Chicago and Atlanta. Upon becoming a grandfather he became known as Two-Pops. Louis was a devoted husband and father. He was the back bone of his family and will be deeply missed by those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his son, James Thon, sister, Delores Friel and sister-in-law, Joan Thon. Louis leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Jane Ferguson Thon, sons, Kenneth Thon (Jennifer), Stephen Thon (Laurie) and Matthew Thon, grandchildren, Daniel (Tori), Timothy, Jamie, Theresa and Kateri, brother, Kenneth Thon, sister Beverly McPeak (Edward) and brother-in-law, Howard Ferguson. A prayer service will be Monday, July 27, 2015 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home, Woodstock, GA.
