Lynda was an excellent trainer in the Girlscouts. Very dedicated to scouting. Nice person to be around. Beautiful person.

Lynda was like a sister to me.  I had no biological brothers or sisters.  Lynda had two sisters in south Georgia, but I got to fill in for them in Atlanta.

Lynda and Ed shared so much with me and my family.  We usually met every Sunday night to eat Mexican food and solve all the world's problems.

After my separation from my husband, Lynda and Ed took me under their wing as a family member, taking me with them on vacations to places such as Alaska, Ireland, and Key West.  They would tuck me into a corner in their room so I didn't have to pay for an extra room.

Our children grew up playing together.  We often shared baby sitting duties.  Christi, their daughter, was my daughter Shelby's Matron of Honor in her wedding.

When tragedies struck, like the death of my parents, Lynda was always the first one there, sitting quietly to do whatever was needed.  

One time, I remember trying to sew a "Bicentennial Dress" for my daughter for a school event.  I became so frustrated and impatient with my efforts, Lynda just took over and completed the project for me.  My daughter won the "best costume" award thanks to Lynda.

That's the way Lynda was.  She was a true friend, observing what I needed without my even telling her, then moving to do just that.

I will miss her warm smile and loyalty.


It was my honor and pleasure to serve  with Lynda on council committees and in leader training roles.  She was a delight to work with and her dedication to Girl Scouting and especially and always to the girls it serves is legendary.  We will all miss her smile, can-do attitude, wonderful personality and friendship.

Always enjoyed time spent with Lynda in Trefoil Guild and Gold Award Alliance events. My most treasured memory is our trip to Italy and Our Chalet in 1999. She willing shared her husband Ed to be our luggage handler. Both were always such good sports and such fun! We had drifted apart the last few years but she will always be remembered with happy thoughts

Lynda and I first met when she was a volunteer with the Northwest Georgia Girl Scout Council. When she would come into the council's resource library (which I managed), she was always such fun to talk to! She had so much enthusiasm for the Girl Scout Program, and lots of good ideas for how to spread the word.
Later, when we were both active members of the Trefoil Guild, I especially enjoyed our camping weekends of hiking, singing, cooking, canoeing, and campfires.
Lynda was a treasure in the life of the Girl Scouts in Georgia!

Lynda was like a sister to me and my sister Emily.  We began our many years friendship doing volunteer work in the GA District of Pilot International.  I first met Lynda when my sister Emily was her District Secretary when Lynda was GA District Governor (2002-2003).  Emily and I spend many fun times with Lynda, Ed, Tammy & Family at their home and our many fun-filled trips to many Pilot Conventions over the years.  One fun time was when Lynda, Emily, Gigi Wingate & I flew into Sacramento to go to the PI Convention in Reno and we went early and drove thru Napa Valley.  Emily was our designated driver while Lynda, Gigi & I sip wine down Napa Valley, at some point we weren't eating enough and got a little fun giddy.  There are so many of those fun trips and Conventions that I spend with Lynda, wonderful memories.   I will truly miss my dear friend Lynda and I know she is in heaven talking Pilot with my sister Emily who has also passed.  My love and prayers to Ed & the Family.

When I think of Lynda, I think "snap!"  There was a quickness about her, a crackle of energy, and a sharp wit.  Put that with Lynda's down-home drawl and you had the quinntesenntial strong/soft, loving/tough southern woman.  Probably alot like Juliette Low!  When someome who was living with ill-health leaves this earth, I always think about this song:
"And He will raise you up on eagle's wings
Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of His Hand"”
