Born on August 2, 1949, in Birmingham, Alabama, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Helen and Raymond Hayden Dean Jr. She spent much of her life in Homewood, Alabama, where she was a devoted member of All Saints Episcopal Church. In 2013, Marilyn relocated to Atlanta to be closer to her family, whom she cherished deeply.
Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Wynn Wing; son-in-law, Zachery Wing; and her beloved grandson, Hayden Wing, all of Atlanta. She is also survived by her sister, Betsy D. Perry; brother-in-law, John D. Perry of Wetumpka; nieces Jamie Hornsby (David) of Tallassee and Jessica Roy (Stephen) of Dothan; and great-nieces Evelyn Hornsby, Olivia Roy, and Reagan Roy. Additionally, she leaves behind her aunts Clara Beauchamp (Bill) and Beth Nethery.
Affectionately known as “Worthy” to her grandson Hayden, Marilyn will be remembered for her devotion to her family and the love she shared with those around her. She found joy in cooking for loved ones and spending time at the beach but treasured nothing more than being surrounded by family.
A private service for family will be held in the coming weeks followed by a celebration of life for family and friends.
Marilyn’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
