

Born on October 23, 1944, in Flint, Michigan. Mark graduated from College High School in Pittsburg, Kansas, in 1962. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1969, where his courage and skill earned him the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal for heroic acts in aerial flight during the Vietnam War.
After his military service, Mark relocated his family to Georgia where worked in the electronics industry, progressing from field technician to corporate executive. He was also an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5262, The American Legion Post 0045 where he supported veterans and their families through advocacy and community service. Mark was also a passionate, active member of the Cherokee County Amateur Radio Society and Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES), where he enjoyed connecting with people both locally and worldwide, sharing knowledge, and building lasting friendships.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Mark was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan (Marchman), and his son, David. He is survived by siblings Marie (Conrad) and Mitchell; his children, Matthew, Luke, and John; and 4 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, February 10th at 3:00pm in Canton, GA, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mark’s memory to your local VFW, American Legion, or the National Veterans Foundation.
