Martha Philmon

Martha Grace Philmon, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023, surrounded by her family in Woodstock, Georgia. She was born on October 26, 1930, in Montezuma, Georgia. Martha's journey through life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Martha will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit and zest for life. She had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and found solace in the calming waves of the beach. Traveling was one of Martha's enjoyments. Her faith was an essential part of Martha's life. She found immense joy and comfort in her church family and cherished the moments spent participating in her Monday morning bible study group. Martha's devotion to her faith served as an inspiration to all who knew her.

The visitation to honor Martha's life will take place on Tuesday, October 24th at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Woodstock, Georgia. Friends and loved ones are welcome to pay their respects from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held the following day, Wednesday, October 25th at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Acworth, Georgia, starting at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Macon Memorial Park on Thursday, October 26th.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Lauren and Malma Thomas, her sisters, Mary Smith and Vivian Thomas, as well as her brothers Frazier Thomas, Harold Thomas, and Jack Thomas.

Martha's memory will live on through her loving family. She is survived by her daughters Pat (Lamar) Hodges and Ruthie Philmon, along with her son Lee (Robine) Philmon. Her grandchildren Beth (Cody) Reid, Rachael (Jake) Byrd, Michael Hodges, Matthew (Karolina) Philmon, Chris (Magdalena)Philmon, and great-grandchildren Owen Reid, Grant Reid, Elaina Byrd, Alexa Philmon, Elliana Philmon, and Cecilia Philmon, and many nieces and nephews.
