Mary devoted herself to her family, taking care of her children and husband. For a time, she did enjoy work as a Sales Associate for Sears. Mary lived in many places along the East Coast. Mary was also a member of the Red Hat Society, eventually becoming a Queen Mother.

When she was younger, Mary enjoyed playing golf. She was a lifelong University of Tennessee sports fan and enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. Mary was a loving mother and took every opportunity she had to spend time with her grandsons.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Gilford Forest Shearon after 53 years of marriage and sister, Anna Frances Argo. She leaves behind her son, Gilford Forest Shearon Jr; daughter, Diane Dunlap (Joe); and grandsons, Walker and Chandler Shearon.

Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband at Highland Cemetery, Knoxville, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Mary’s memory to the charity of your choice.
