Mary Stranz

Mrs. Mary Stranz, 96, of Marietta, GA passed away April 26, 2017. Mary was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 22, 1920 to the late Adolf and Anna Bayer. She moved to and raised her children in Totowa Boro, NJ. Mary Stranz retired to San Clemente, CA for 21 years and had lived in Marietta, GA for the past 12 years..

Mary enjoyed a career as a medical secretary for 20 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, dancing, gardening and game nights. While living in California, she had a beautiful rose garden. She also had a passion for collecting seashells and pine cones; She even put together a Christmas tree out of the pine cones she had collected. She also quilted pillows and made blankets for her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Irving Stranz and her two sisters Olga Marsiglio (Louis) and Helen Allstadt (John). She leaves behind her son, Gary Stranz and daughter-in-law Diane DeVenio, daughter, Carolyn Totta, grandchildren, Stephanie Wilpiszeski (Michael) and Jennifer Stranz . Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Barbara Sams (Raivo), Gerard Allstadt (Dianna), John Allstadt and Phillip Allstadt.

A memorial service will be Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Mary’s memory to the American Humane Society, www.americanhumane.org.
