

After graduating from high school in Long Beach, CA, Michael joined the United States Navy. He honorably served during the Vietnam War. While stationed in San Diego, Michael met Judy. They would marry and have two children together. Michael enjoyed a career as a Boiler Inspector. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting for treasures with his metal detector, antiquing, being a short order cook for the family, a rearranger of the dishwasher, and woodworking. His family will have many beautiful keepsakes he made to pass down through the generations. Michael was a devoted Christian and would spend countless hours studying the bible.
He will be remembered for the unconditional love he gave his family and for the amazing father he was. Michael would always put the needs of his family before his own. He will be immensely missed by those lucky enough to have known him.
Michael was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Beasley; mother, Anna Benedict; father, Max Beasley; and sisters, Wanda McClain and Arta Higgins. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 19 years, Gloria Beasley; children, Denise Houston (Richard) of Columbiana, AL, and Michael J. Beasley (Vera) of Chelsea, AL; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nic and Kellen; step-children, Chas Brooks (Lauren) of Hilton Head, SC; Chris Brooks (fiancé, Christy) of Ball Ground, GA, and Conrad Brooks of Dawsonville, GA; step-grandchildren, Britton, Braiden, Benjamin, Hunter, Noah, Shelby, Jenna, and Brayden (aka “Possum”); great-grandchild, Bryson; and siblings, Janet Burchfield (Bill) of Toronto, OH; Gene Beasley (Darlene) of Chuckey, TN; and Carol Beasley of Toronto, OH.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 6-8pm and Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 10am-5pm at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main St, Woodstock, GA 30188. A funeral service will be at the First Baptist Church of Columbiana, 208 N Main St, Columbiana, AL 35051. Michael will be laid to rest following the service at Southern Heritage Memorial Park.
